On a mountain walk in Kanagawa prefecture, near Hokone, we passed through a 4 or 5 meter high field of bamboo that the trail cut straight through with a 10 foot wide corridor.
The wind picked up, and we could hear it overhead, but there was hardly a breeze between the bamboo walls.
I like the tiny squeaks you can hear when the the leaves and the stalks hit each other.
